Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AI World Monitor (“we”, “our”, “us”), developed by TD, collects, uses and protects information when you use our mobile application (the “App”) and our websites, including the public rescue map at sos.aiworldmonitor.app.

1. No account required

You do not need to create an account. We do not ask for your name or email. Your followed regions and markets, saved items, places, emergency contacts and settings are stored only on your device.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Usage and diagnostics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used (for example which screens are opened and whether features work) and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and diagnostics. This includes device model, OS version, app version and an app-instance identifier. It does not include your name or contact details.

2.2 Location

If you allow it, the App uses your location while you use it to show the 10-day extreme-weather outlook where you are, to pick the right emergency numbers for your country and to share your position in an SOS message. Your location stays on your device unless you choose to send it (see section 4). You can turn location off at any time in your device settings.

2.3 Notifications

If you allow notifications, we receive a Firebase Cloud Messaging token to send breaking-news alerts. Price alerts and extreme-weather alerts are generated on your device from public data.

2.4 Advertising and tracking

We use Google AdMob to show ads. On iOS, the App asks your permission through App Tracking Transparency before your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) is used. Where the law requires it (for example the EEA, UK, Switzerland and some US states), we ask for your consent with Google’s consent tool; you can change your choice in Settings → Ad privacy choices. Without consent you may still see ads, but they are not personalised. AdMob processes data under Google’s policies.

2.5 App integrity

We use Firebase App Check (Apple App Attest on iOS, Play Integrity on Android) to confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the App, to protect our services from abuse.

3. AI features

When you unlock AI content (AI Brief, event analysis, market insight), the App sends news headlines, their sources, places and times, and market price changes to Google (Firebase AI Logic / Gemini API) to generate the text in your language. We do not send your name, contact details, location or other personal data. Results are cached on your device. Google processes this data under the Firebase data processing terms and the Gemini API terms.

4. Public SOS rescue requests

The SOS screen lets you call emergency services and text your location to your own contacts; we do not receive that information.

If you choose Request rescue on the public map and confirm that you understand it is public, the App publishes the following to our database (Google Cloud Firestore) and shows it to anyone on the public rescue map: your exact location and its accuracy, the type of situation, the number of people, vulnerable persons you selected, your short note, your battery level, the administrative area names of your location (country, province/state, district, ward) and, only if you tick the option, your phone number. Each device is identified by a random anonymous ID (Firebase Anonymous Authentication) so that only you can update the request or mark yourself safe.

Requests expire and disappear from the map within 24 hours, or immediately when you tap “I’m safe”. Do not include information about other people without their consent.

5. How we use information

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Third-party data and services

The App displays information from third parties, including news publishers (via Google News), USGS, GDACS, NOAA, MET Norway (CC BY 4.0) and Yahoo Finance, and uses Google services (Firebase, AdMob, Gemini). These services may process data under their own privacy policies. We do not control or guarantee the accuracy of third-party data.

7. International transfers

Our service providers, mainly Google, may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

8. Data retention

Public SOS requests are kept for up to 24 hours after their last update and may then be deleted. Analytics and crash data are kept according to Firebase’s retention settings. Data stored on your device is removed when you delete the App.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Contact us at the address below. You can also reset your advertising identifier and change tracking and location permissions in your device settings.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical measures, including App Check and strict database rules, to protect information. No system is completely secure.

11. Children

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes are shown with a new “Last updated” date.
